Barb and Jeff’s wedding was held in one of my favorite spaces we have ever planned a wedding– their private home on Seabrook Island!
Maybe it’s the make-over junkie in me or that we were able to take in these gorgeous marsh views all week while creating a truly custom event-space… whatever it was, the effects were amazing and WED’s staff loved the honor of transforming their home.
Here was their kitchen/dining/sitting toom area. With the great open layout, we knew this would be the main seating area for their nearly 90 guests.
We cleared out all the furniture and brought in square tables for maximum space-usage (and honestly, the style seemed to fit, too!). Pintuck linens to coordinate with their existing wall paint color and the beautiful marsh views and voila!
The caterers used the garage space for all of their service since the kitchen, though spacious, was located right off the main dining area. Instead, we decorated the countertop with fresh flowers in their own vases and offered a cordials and coffee display at the bar.
This is the “before” shot of the formal living room, which was adjacent to the kitchen/dining/sitting room and also held tables for the seated dinner…
During dinner!
We originally planned to close off this bedroom (so as not to have to move a bed that surely weighed 20,000 lbs.), but rain ruined our “let’s-put-the-bar-on-the-porch” idea.
SOOO.. we simply moved furniture to create a hip lounge area and put the bar in the bedroom! Secretly I think the men must have planned this unexpected rain… it meant they had access to a TV to watch the GA Tech game that was on that night!
And finally… just a few more of the lovely details!
**P.S. Though we all might not have lovely homes like this on Seabrook, lucky us– the Seabrook Island Club has finished its extensive renovations and is renting its Clubhouse out again!! Check it all out here**
