New Neutrals

I love that wedding design has become something more like interior design… gone are “rules” of what you should and shouldn’t do! Savvy brides and grooms are now seeking to create spaces at their weddings that are as interesting and dynamic as the rooms of their homes.

Erin and Chris are hip entrepreneurs (look for their new clothing boutique next to Caviar and Bananas on Wentworth to open later this summer!!) and wanted their wedding to feel casual and laid back without sacrificing in style. We brought in natural elements in the florals and paired them with a modern tone of gunmetal grey. Here’s what happened at the William Aiken House on an absolutely beautiful May evening…

The bride carried of bouquet of calla lilies, ranunculus and astilbe and had a photo of her groom attached to the stems. The bridesmaids gray dresses were given freshness with bouquets of pods, mums, and fresh honeysuckle vine…

Natural colored barstools kept the lounge natural and gave additional seating for guests…

Burlap covered ottomans and live moss lined each side…

The William Aiken is filled with rich, saturated tones (such as this bright yellow from the home’s exterior!) so Erin wanted us to pull in shots of color throughout. We hung pink glass lanterns in the trees and added purple double tulips to the centerpieces on the portico…

The beautiful “blue room” downstairs served the perfect cake room… and the cake was placed right on the antique table already in the space…

The children ran through the boxwood maze wile the grownups danced the night away in the tent…

Happy honeymooning, Erin and Chris!

UPDATE: Check out these gorgeous photos from their photographer, Watson Studios out of Knoxville, TN!!
