A peak into our world

Thursday, September 2nd, 2010

Every wonder where we hang out all day? Where the work gets done? Where we live and breathe all things wedding?

Well, folks, here is a peak into the WED office, courtesy of one of our favorites Marni Rothschild Durlach for an today’s Wedding Row spread.  We are so thankful for this space on Spring Street- right in the middle of what seems to have become Charleston’s “wedding district.” We’ve been in town for over twelve years, in this area for six and in this office for two.  Please stop by and see us soon!

Projects, projects… here’s what was going on yesterday when these were taken by the the beautiful and wonderful Marni Rothschild Durlach:

Assembling gift bags…

Stuffing and sending out invitations…

And here’s the WED team!

Please stop in to say hello. We’re always up to share a diet coke or a glass of wine… and, of course, to talk all things wedding!

Tara and Jesse

There are funny people and then there is Donna Von Bruening. We LOVE working with Donna because she is always making our staff, our clients, and all of our vendors laugh all night long.

And Tara and Jesse’s laid lack and fun personalities were perfect for Donna and also for the whimsical teal and yellow art deco-inspired wedding. WED brought in TEC, Studio R, Snyder, and Jim Smeal to the Harbour Club to transform the space with some mid-century style. I especially LOVED the ostrich feathers!!

Congrats, Tara and Jesse!

Rebecca and Robby

Wednesday, August 11th, 2010

Wow. Wow, wow, wow. When I opened up this file of photos taken by the wonderful Alison Mayfield of Christian Oth Studio I could not stop saying, “Wow.”

Rebecca and Robby’s wedding was just one of my favorites and NOT just because we worked on one of the most beautiful places in the entire world with some of my favorite vendors like The Sanctuary, Dahlia Designs, Wedding Cakes By Jim Smeal, TEC, Studio R and Snyder.

What really made it incredible for our whole staff was the graciousness and loveliness of the bride and groom, Rebecca and Robby. They are hip professionals living now in North Carolina who were just a true pleasure to work with every single day. I loved to talk with Rebecca about her wedding vision and loved that she trusted us to carry that through for her. Her style was timeless and elegant but with a good dose of fun thrown in there, too. What a great weekend it was on Kiawah… take a peek for yourself:

The stunning bride…

The groom “getting ready” for the wedding… :)

Both SO excited to see each other!

…A beautiful spot we found on the way out to Kiawah!

This little lady who was hanging out on The Sanctuary lawn was mesmerized by the bride, telling her, “You are soooo beautiful” and “I’m going to be a bride, too.” Precious. I think she would have participated in the rest of the photos if she could have.

Congrats to the new Mr. and Mrs.!!

WED wedding is on The Wedding Row!

Tuesday, August 10th, 2010

Hooray! Our wedding that was most recently published in The Knot Magazine was just showcased on The Wedding Row… on of Charleston’s hippest wedding blogs.

Thanks so much to Della and please check out the details here!

I’ve been organizing photos and one thing that seems to be in every wedding is a few great, beautiful drinks. We’re certainly proponents of a signature drink to be served at a cocktail hour or throughout the wedding reception. It’s just a great way to show off an interest or color or detail… and truth be told, they’re always a hit.  It’s just not a wedding unless everyone has a beverage in hand, contented and ready to party the night away!

Here are a few fun ones I came across… what could you do for your big day? The caprina you drank while you were studying abroad in Brazil? The old fashions that you and your hubby drink while watching Mad Men each week? Your favorite sweet tea mojito from Cypress? The choices are endless, but certainly share a flavor you love with your guests!

WED in The Knot!

Monday, August 2nd, 2010

Hooray! It’s always nice to come back home from vacation to good news… and great news this is!

Congrats to Marni Rothschild Durlach and all of the vendors who worked on Kirsten and Paul’s wedding this past October. It was just featured in The Knot’s national magazine and we couldn’t be more thrilled.

Check out the story here and make sure to pick up a copy on newsstands!

Ashley and Will

Tuesday, July 20th, 2010

Ashley is a dear friend of mine and is was SO MUCH FUN to help her with her June 2010 wedding at the Cathedral and Mills House!

What I loved is that Ashley completely trusted our vision for the colors, feel, etc. She would say, “I just can’t see it in my head at all, but I trust you!”

It all started around a gorgeous teal-toned bridesmaids dress that she chose. She really loved fresh, summery colors but wanted to make sure it all meshed well together. We brought in pale pinks, apricots, greens, pale blues and creams and I think the results were beautiful.

Here’s a peak of some of the photos that the lovely and talented Kate Thorton snapped for us that day…

Congrats to you both and I can’t wait to hang out with Mr. and Mrs. Jeter!

Thinking about fall…

Monday, July 12th, 2010

With spring behind us and summer temperatures that are basically melting us right now, it’s no wonder we’re all excited about the fall weddings to come!

These were from my dear friend and cousin Amy’s wedding this past fall over Thanksgiving weekend. We all wore more casual dresses and sweaters from Urban Outfitters and our own cowboy boots. I’m sure you’ll all recognize me in the photo below to the right of the bride :)

YAY, fall! Can’t wait for you to be here again!
