We can’t get enough Allison (of Studio R) & Ben’s super funky wedding at the always amazing Lowndes GroveThe Wedding Row has a three part feature of their wedding chocked full of eclectic & personal touches that made their wedding weekend a true reflection of their personal style.  Juliet Elizabeth captured Allison & Ben’s personalities in her amazing pictures; here’s a few of our favorites…

Amanda and Sam

Amanda and Sam… love them. You know you have something special when the entire design of the wedding is based around one of the groom’s tatoos. True story!

Green (AKA my favorite color of all time) was permeated throughout the event from the printing to the glassware to the crystal accents on the chandeliers to the lighting in the bar area. I feel like an accurate description for this event would be “rad.” Ha!

Our dear friend Josh Drake took the photos that day- be sure to check out his blog post here. He was the perfect personality for these hipsters and I feel like he captured some awesome candid moments. Take a look!

Isn’t she gorgeous? So calm waiting to go down the aisle!

It was an emotional ceremony… I love to see a groom with sweet tears!

And of course, everyone busts out their iphones :)

Ellen came up with this great idea to use some green crystal accents on the chandeliers… I think it was such a sophisticated touch with the green glassware on the tables!

Beautiful flowers by SYG Designs and printing by Studio R:

The birds and flower tattoo was even carried into the cake design by Jim Smeal

The beautiful bar/lounge area, lighting courtesy of TEC:

I love the girl on the right lounging with her feet up. Just what that’s there for!

These two were Maui-bound and we’re all a little jealous… have fun and CONGRATS, Amanda and Sam!

Brooke and Chris

Halloween. Now I know that this is a favorite holiday for many… not for this girl. Well, that is until Brooke and Chris’ Cassique wedding over Halloween weekend this year! The colors, the charm, the fun… all made me fall in love with the festivities and the spooky cheer.

Brooke and Chris hosted their wedding and reception at the always beautiful Cassique on Kiawah Island and WOW, what a gorgeous night it was! Brooke is a fabulous art curator and her effortless style was seen throughout the night from her Carolina Herrera gown with bold accessories and retro hair to the lovely letterpress printing by The Lettered Olive to the custom lantern lighting by TEC.  With plums and pumpkin orange as tones for the florals by SYG Designs and a rustic chic vibe in the reception tent and with Papa Sol keeping the dance floor full all night, I’d most certainly say that the party was as unique as it was fun.

The next morning (Halloween morning) was perhaps one of my FAVORITE events of the entire year and darn it if we couldn’t manage to get any photos to share with you! But it was a COSTUME brunch on the lawn of The Sanctuary and oh, my goodness it was hysterical! The mother-of-the-groom wore a gorilla suit, the bride and groom were Paul Bunyan and the Ox… everyone donned their finest Halloween garb and it was most certainly a brunch to go in the memory books for WED.

So no photos from that, but take a look at the beautiful bride and her gorgeous wedding, compliments of a Charleston uber-talent, Marni Rothschild Durlach (make sure to check out her blog with more photos here):

Congrats, Brooke and Chris!

Marianne and Emre on Charleston Weddings Blog!

Thursday, October 14th, 2010

Whoohoo, what a fun flashback for us to see Marianne and Emre’s wedding on Charleston Wedding Magazine’s blog featured as this week’s “Flashback Wedding.”

Marianne and Emre’s wedding was quite simply gorgeous. Marianne was ahead of the gold and metallics trend and I have not seen The Rivercourse on Kiawah look as beautiful as it did that night.

Be sure to check out the blog here!

Tara and Jesse

There are funny people and then there is Donna Von Bruening. We LOVE working with Donna because she is always making our staff, our clients, and all of our vendors laugh all night long.

And Tara and Jesse’s laid lack and fun personalities were perfect for Donna and also for the whimsical teal and yellow art deco-inspired wedding. WED brought in TEC, Studio R, Snyder, and Jim Smeal to the Harbour Club to transform the space with some mid-century style. I especially LOVED the ostrich feathers!!

Congrats, Tara and Jesse!

Thank you, Schultzes!

Thanks so much to Cheyenne and Geoff Schultz, a wonderfully fun and exciting photographer husband-wife team who came down from Charlotte, NC to photograph Kim and Drew’s Legare-Waring House wedding.

Don’t you love being able to work with laid-back and easy-going people? It was so seamless for the Schultzes to work with WED and our team and their clever website name- www.lovetheschultzes – seems appropriate.

I LOVED the colors that Kim and Drew used for their April wedding… and how wonderfully did they photograph, too?? Thanks so much to everyone who helped make this happen!!

Here are a few of their wonderful images, and make sure to check out their blog on this event, too…

Thanks so much to the new Mr. and Mrs. Smith!

Girly Girl Details

Friday, February 26th, 2010

You know what, I’m not an inherent girly girl. I grew up between brothers, what can I say??

But there is something so fun and lovely about the feminine details in a wedding from pink roses to a blushing bride.

Jay was SUCH a fun bride and she fully embraced all that was pink. I loved it. Here are just a few of the fun girly girl details:

Kate and Ben

Friday, February 5th, 2010

Oh, my… this wedding. One of our FAVORITES for many reasons…

Does everyone remember “Hurricane Hanna”- the alleged hurricane that was coming through the lowcountry in September 2008 threatening to destroy all of our carefully planned events?

This bride and groom would have none of that. Kate, a boutique owner (see her adorable shop here) and her groom Ben, a Navy SEAL, were scheduled to go overseas the very next week. So the show had to go on!

Thankfully the winds gave away to an absolutely STUNNING wedding full of thoughtful details and charm. And did we mention how fun it was? From the bride and groom’s first dance to “Super Freak” (a surprise to all the guests) to the Polaroid photo set up complete with dress up props galore, we were all kept entertained.

Suzanne and Ben on Weddings Unveiled Blog!

Friday, January 8th, 2010

Thank you so much to the talented folks at Weddings Unveiled Blog for featuring one of our fabulous couples on their site!

Suzanne and Ben were married just over a year ago- December 27th, 2008 to be exact- and we loved planning their thoroughly unique and charming wedding. I loved how she wanted a winter wedding that featured bold tones and plenty of personal touches…

THANK YOU to Weddings Unveiled for the lovely storyboards of their wedding, and for the ever-talented Corbin Gurkin for the beautiful shots of the evening…

Happy Anniversary, Suzanne and Ben!
