Whoohoo, what a fun flashback for us to see Marianne and Emre’s wedding on Charleston Wedding Magazine’s blog featured as this week’s “Flashback Wedding.”
Marianne and Emre’s wedding was quite simply gorgeous. Marianne was ahead of the gold and metallics trend and I have not seen The Rivercourse on Kiawah look as beautiful as it did that night.

WED had a break this last weekend from weddings (the first after a busy season!), but it was a great time to regroup and plan for our fall weddings! We’re always searching for fresh, new concepts for our brides but also looking back for ideas that have worked well in the past.
One of our favorite weddings from fall of 2008 was Lauren and Kevin’s at the Rivercouse on Kiawah Island. Lauren was originally intimidated by color but ended up going with bright flowers to contrast her subdued linens. We all loved the outcome!

I always call the hour before sunset “the Golden Hour” at The River Course Club on Kiawah Island because it always seems that the setting sun hits everything with the perfect glow. This fall 2008 bride wanted to bring out that natural gold light in her decor and a fabulous event resulted…
Rattan furniture created comfortable nooks around the porch, perfectly juxtaposed to the lush tent:
