Kiften & Will tie the knot in the garden…

Wednesday, November 30th, 2011

Kiften and Will… gosh, I love these two. And their families. And their style. And their laid-back attitudes. I pretty much love everything about this power couple!

Kiften and Will are both in medicine at MUSC and with their hectic schedules, it left little time for planning. What was great about this couple was that they knew EXACTLY what they wanted- or, rather, exactly what they DIDN’T want. What they didn’t want was the stuffy, formal feel of some weddings they had been to in the past. What they did want was a fun al fresco dinner filled with lawn games, delicious drinks, easy southern food and plenty o’ dancing.

They fell in love with the Legare-Waring House and we managed to find of theme of “…in the garden.” We hoped to be able to achieve a casual elegance by imagining a home-spun soiree in the garden of a grand estate, and I’m pretty sure that’s exactly what we got.

With the amazing talent of our lighting friends at TEC, the floral expertise of SYG Designs, rentals by Snyder and photography by our friend Josh Drake, this is what came about from our garden vision…

(welcome packets were hand-stamped  muslin bags filled with benne wafers and cheese zingers, made locally by the Olde Colony Bakery, and parkling water- below- refreshed guests before the ceremony)

The STUNNING bride Kiften:

Bridesmaids and the bride having fun before the wedding:

Can’t say the groomsmen weren’t having fun, either :)

The Avenue of Oaks ceremony!

Custom burlap runners on the seated tables + farmhouse tables = rustic chic

How ’bout that lighting! Go, TEC!

It’s not a wedding without dancing…

Love, love, love! Congrats, Kiften and Will!

Kim and Drew on Junebug Weddings Blog!

Thursday, June 30th, 2011

Oh my goodness, what a fun surprise to see that our lovely bride Kim Smith’s wedding was featured on Junebug Weddings blog! Kim and Drew’s wedding was just so lovely… the bright sky blues and spring greens were fresh and quirky but didn’t feel overdone. I always love it when the decor really fits the time of year and I feel like theirs really screamed, “Spring!” So great.

We loved working with this awesome Charlotte, NC couple and also loved working with their friends, photographers Geoff and Cheyenne Schultz. Make sure to check out their great blog here as well as the post on Junebug Weddings here!

Abby and Joseph, the Wedding

Thursday, March 17th, 2011

Oh, this wedding… I LOVED IT. I think it just really speaks to what happens when a bride’s vision meets our tastes meets a great venue (Legare Waring House and Founder’s Hall) meets a slew or talented vendors (think TEC, SYG Designs, Snyder Rentals, etc.) meets a charmed weekend. It was magical!

I could go on and on, but how about I post a million photos instead and let those speak for themselves?

Let’s start with the SUPER HIP wood-burned invites, sent out in chic boxes wrapped in patterned paper:

Moving right along to the dapper men…

And the beautiful bride and her bridesmaids…

Gorgeous flowers by SYG Designs…

And tons of fun detail and decor…

How cute are these two??

Thanks for the amazing photos, Leigh!!

Stacey and Jesse

Thursday, January 27th, 2011

Oh, Stacey and Jesse… where do I even start?

Stacey was one of those brides who our whole office was excited to see when she came in town for appointments. She’s hip, smart as a whip , stylish and absolutely hysterical. She had a fun modern style and was excited to let us take her vision and run with us trusting us every step of the way.

Stacey and Jesse were married at the beautiful Charlestowne Landing and they really utilized the space to the max. Their ceremony was under the Avenue of Oaks, the cocktail hour outside of the historic Legare-Waring House and the reception at Founders Hall, the new (gorgeous!) modern venue on site (and perfect to accommodate guests inside in case of inclement weather).

Marni Rothschild Durlach was there to capture all of the sweet moments and modern details. We LOVE Marni and adore her true journalistic style in which she photographs weddings for our clients. See more photos on her blog here, and enjoy these as well!

Avenue of Oaks

An Avenue of Oaks… what is more “Charleston” than that?

Ashley and Scott celebrated their wedding at the beautiful Legare-Waring House, located at historic Charlestowne Landing. The shade of the Oaks made placing a clear-top tent doable in May (normally summer heat + clear top tent = everything melted!) and the effect was just stunning.

Here are several of the details, gorgeously captured by Marni Rothschild:

Tent/Rentals: Snyder Event Rentals
