In leiu of a more formal “rehearsal dinner,” these two opted to invite everyone to a welcome party at Mingo Point to enjoy oysters, a sunset and a bonfire. And I’m sorry but if these photos don’t make you want to hop on a plane, jump in a car or even ride a bike out to Kiawah Island ASAP then I don’t know what is wrong with you! Mingo Point is so beautiful and everyone looks like they are having the time of their lives.

Brooke and Chris hosted their wedding and reception at the always beautiful Cassique on Kiawah Island and WOW, what a gorgeous night it was! Brooke is a fabulous art curator and her effortless style was seen throughout the night from her Carolina Herrera gown with bold accessories and retro hair to the lovely letterpress printing by The Lettered Olive to the custom lantern lighting by TEC.  With plums and pumpkin orange as tones for the florals by SYG Designs and a rustic chic vibe in the reception tent and with Papa Sol keeping the dance floor full all night, I’d most certainly say that the party was as unique as it was fun.

The next morning (Halloween morning) was perhaps one of my FAVORITE events of the entire year and darn it if we couldn’t manage to get any photos to share with you! But it was a COSTUME brunch on the lawn of The Sanctuary and oh, my goodness it was hysterical! The mother-of-the-groom wore a gorilla suit, the bride and groom were Paul Bunyan and the Ox… everyone donned their finest Halloween garb and it was most certainly a brunch to go in the memory books for WED.

Marianne and Emre’s wedding was quite simply gorgeous. Marianne was ahead of the gold and metallics trend and I have not seen The Rivercourse on Kiawah look as beautiful as it did that night.

Rebecca and Robby’s wedding was just one of my favorites and NOT just because we worked on one of the most beautiful places in the entire world with some of my favorite vendors like The Sanctuary, Dahlia Designs, Wedding Cakes By Jim Smeal, TEC, Studio R and Snyder.

What really made it incredible for our whole staff was the graciousness and loveliness of the bride and groom, Rebecca and Robby. They are hip professionals living now in North Carolina who were just a true pleasure to work with every single day. I loved to talk with Rebecca about her wedding vision and loved that she trusted us to carry that through for her. Her style was timeless and elegant but with a good dose of fun thrown in there, too. What a great weekend it was on Kiawah… take a peek for yourself:

This little lady who was hanging out on The Sanctuary lawn was mesmerized by the bride, telling her, “You are soooo beautiful” and “I’m going to be a bride, too.” Precious. I think she would have participated in the rest of the photos if she could have.

The Ocean Course on Kiawah Island is one of the few places that brides can get that beach wedding they want… and I have to admit, there’s something uber-romantic about hearing the waves crashing behind you during your wedding ceremony…

Here are just a few pics we took of the bright blooms… just the kind of refreshing burst we all need during this ridiculous heat wave!

This past week we planned a series of evenings for a Canadian Insurance Group on Kiawah, SC at The Sanctuary Resort. The group was all men who were really more interested in having a good time, so we made sure to coordinate fantastic but understated decor that centered around the things they loved: cigars, golf, being outside, the bar, etc.

The first night was planned for the gorgeous Grand Lawn at the Sanctuary, but rain unfortunately moved us indoors to the Oaks Ballroom. Still, the bright tulips, green linens and hammered glass chargers looked just as great inside as they would have looked on the lawn, and we still managed to utilize lanterns and hurricane shades on the adjacent covered patio:

The next night was planned in the Terrace Ballroom… simplicity ruled with open cut calla lilies…

The final night was at Mingo Point for an “upscale BBQ.” Black and white checked table linens were set with local reeds, grasses, and blooms in mason jars… Oysters and apps served straight from the grill led to a dinner of southern BBQ, peach cobbler and ice cream for dessert, and of course, a fantastic humidor of cigars for enjoying around the bonfire….

Kiawah is GORGEOUS, no??

For those who have been, you know just what I mean. The natural beauty of the island is almost hard to believe and this bride and groom were all about showing off nature at its finest.

A trolley transported Allison’s and Matthew’s wedding parties from their rooms at The Sanctuary to the ceremony at the lovely Holy Spirit Catholic Church:

Guests were greeted with silver juleps (these doubled as favors at the end of the evening!):

Then picked up their escort cards underneath this lovely “live oak”…

Then cocktailed on the Osprey Point patio overlooking their gorgeous grounds:

PDA Lighting supplied the uplit backdrop for the band, which was focal for every table in the room:

Centerpieces in pale yellows, creams, and greens were oh-so-garden-chic:

This wedding was all about the cakes! I couldn’t decide which one I loved the most- the Notre Dame dome grooms cake, the tiered brides cake on a custom stand or the cupcake and truffle tower…

And this fabric is my latest obsession- I would love this tray in my own house!

Congrats to Allison and Matthew, we absolutely loved working with you and your families. And, of course, thank you for giving us yet another excuse to head out to Kiawah!
