Middleton Place

March 27th, 2012

We have to say that Middleton Place is one of the most gorgeous hidden spots in Charleston… with a very gracious staff!  Middleton’s Chelsye Harp & Randall Sonoski were so wonderful & treated us all to lunch at their restaurant.  We had a true Southern lunch of Fried Green Tomato Napoleon & Hickory Smoked Carolina Pulled Pork, with Huguenot Torte to top it off.  Talk about delicious!  Not only was the food amazing but the grounds are breathtaking full of azaleas, magnolias, crepe myrtles, camellias, an incredible bluff view over Rice Mill Pond… & peacocks.

We could go on about how gorgeous & wonderful it is but have a look yourself… Middleton was the backdrop for Lauren & Chad’s lowcountry wedding featured in Smitten Magazine.

Courtney & Tom are Married!

February 14th, 2012

Courtney & Tom’s wedding is exactly what little girl’s dreams are made of!  Let’s start from the beginning…

On a flight to New York City to visit his daughter Mr. Lewis sat next to Tom, who just happened to be about the same age as Mr. Lewis’ daughter.  After a long plane ride & many jokes later Mr. Lewis invited Tom for drinks in the city to meet his daughter, Courtney, & wife, Mrs. Linda.  From that night on Tom was smitten with Courtney.  It took several dates but Courtney finally gave into Tom’s charm & he got his girl!

The WED team first met Courtney two years ago when we were planning her best friend’s wedding in Charleston.  After Courtney & Tom’s engagement Courtney got in touch with us & the planning was underway!  I knew Courtney & I would be two-peas-in-a-design-pod when she sent us pictures of her favorites stores, rooms, outfits, & events (the best way for us to get to know our Client’s overall style), including my absolute favorite Eddie Ross tablescape!

Fast forward to September 16, 2011 to Courtney & Tom’s wedding at The Club at Natirar.   Formerly owned by the King of Morocco, Natirar sits atop a 500 acres of  pristine land… talk about a view!

What makes this story even better?  A Vera Wang gown, custom jewelry from Mark Ingram, Billy’s Cupcakes, a dapper little pup, pink & orange ikat, ginger jars galore, bright orchids, a 1960 Austin Princess Rolls Royce- I’d say this is as close to perfection as it gets!

Get ready to swoon…

We’re Smitten!

February 3rd, 2012

Head on over to Smitten Magazine’s blog to see one of our favorite weddings from last spring… could Jaci & Jamie be any more adorable?!

It’s All In The Details…

January 31st, 2012

More to come from Casey & Sean’s Lowndes Grove wedding next week but we had to share this adorable picture…

Kris & Jacob

January 24th, 2012

When WED got a call from a groom named Jake and he began to tell us a little bit about himself, Ellen looked over at me and said, “These are your people, go for it!”

It’s just so true… Jake and Kris and pretty much my peeps insomuch that I find them both to be fascinating and wonderful and doing all of the things I kind of dream about doing in another life– leading a top-notch metal band, starting a non-profit and using their fame to help others instead of build up themselves. And of my gosh, how much these two loved one another. You could see it pretty obviously at their engagement shoot and even more so in the planning and on the wedding day. These two were made to be with one another and they embrace life together so beautifully. Even if you don’t read the rest of this blog, check out Jake and Kris’ work with Heart Support here!

As you can imagine their tastes were spot on with the things I am loving right now– a little bit vintage, a little bit industrial, a little bit rocker and overall romantic and lovely. We did the flowers in house and enlisted top-notch vendors and talent like Boone Hall Plantation, Wedding Cakes by Jim Smeal, Granville’s Catering, Snyder Rentals, OOH Lounge Rentals, and Technical Event Company to create really a hauntingly magical space at Boone Hall.

THANK GOODNESS they also enlisted the help of the amazing, amazing (any hysterical) Tim Willhouby and his gorgeous wife Sarah of TimWill Photography to document the day…. every photo is perfection.

Take a look:

Jake and Kris, we love you guys! We were honored and thrilled to work with you both and can’t wait to keep hearing about the amazing things you’ll do in life together….

Blessed for our memories of Tracy Turpen & the memories she so gorgeously captured…
