Want to stray from the ordinary while adding unique touches to your big day? Check out one of Hannah’s quirky and fun invitation ideas that will happily surprise your guests from day one!
Have your printing done on a beautiful, vintage handkerchief, adding personal touches to your invitation! To further the look, have your response cards printed as postcards. You can wrap the invitation around the postcard, completing the invitation, securing the two by wrapping them in colored or patterned butchers twine!

Showing their guests everything Charleston was a main goal for Florida couple Natalie & John. Personal friends of Ashley’s, WED was happy to be included in the big day! Simple, easy touches paired with great food and music were important details. Everything local made Natalie & John’s Lowndes Grove wedding an authentic Charleston summer soirée designed with a unique pattern and pops of deep blue and purple. As the previous chef at Cru Café, food was important to groom John. Thankfully, some of our favorite local vendors including Bowen’s Island, Cru Café, the Griffon and Butcher & Bee helped make Natalie & John’s dream of an awesome, Charleston wedding come true.

Cypress Trees Plantation glowed against the blush pink flowers, and cream and gray details of Brooke & Brent’s stunning wedding. Personal touches including “Don’t Take My Drink, I’m Dancing,” cards and bride and groom chair signs added fun, personal details to the intimate surroundings.

The color purple and bacon were a must at Jenny & Jason’s ‘Under the Oaks,’ themed wedding last May, but blue and Duke dominated their fun rehearsal dinner.
Clean elegance with pops of color and our friends at Snyder Event Rentals helped us transform Cherokee Plantation into a dreamland for bride Jenny. Teal accents splashed across lounge pillows and napkins matched the detail on the printing and played into the hands of the fun and energetic theme of the evening.
Guests danced the night away, enjoying the festive atmosphere and beautiful May evening.
We loved this groom’s cake…don’t you?

WED is pleased to announce that Brooke Southern has joined our team. Brooke will be assisting our team in the Charleston office as well as at many of WED’s events. Brooke, originally from a small town in Missouri, moved to Charleston in 2009 to attend the College of Charleston. Growing up with a passion for planning events and an interest in the industry, she knew moving to a beautiful city in the south and graduating with degrees in Hospitality and Tourism Management and Business Administration was the perfect fit for her.
After completing two internships in the wedding industry before graduating in 2012, Brooke knew working in the design aspect of events was the career path she wanted to follow. Brooke is inspired by WED’s elegance and uniqueness in each one of their events and is thrilled to join such a successful team.
Brooke rang in the New Year by starting at WED on January 7, 2013. We are excited to have Brooke’s ambition and experience added to the team and we are delighted to have her on board!

Happy Friday to you all! Luke here!
Since we are getting very close to a very special anniversary for one of my 2012 brides and grooms, I thought what a GREAT opportunity to celebrate a little anniversary of my own. I met Charlotte Elizabeth Photography in 2011 and immediately knew that she had that special touch it takes to be a photographer extraodinaire. Personable, fun to be around, knowledgeable about the craft and just downright easy to work with. I immediately set to the task of finding just that perfect event for her to shoot.
Well, on January 14 I had the pleasure of working with Charlotte on Amanda and Jason’s wedding at the Francis Marion Hotel and boy was I ever happy with the end results.
Happy Anniversary especially to Amanda and Jason! We love you guys and hope to wish you many many more over the years. And, Happy Anniversary from me to you Charlotte. I am so happy to have found such a great wedding day teammate.

Planning a wedding is always an honor and a pleasure. Sounds trite to say, but there is not a wedding I have helped to plan in which I didn’t feel humbled and amazed in it all. Our clients become our friends and for that I am so thankful.
But sometimes our friends become our clients!
When I was a wee lady of 20, I studied abroad in Italy along with several other students from my university. I didn’t know anyone before the trip but became fast friends with Kate, who had already been abroad many times all over the world; I thought she was so worldly and grown up!
Fast forward 10 years. We’ve kept in touch but not nearly enough as we should, so when I received an email from my old friend Kate asking me to help her plan her Charleston wedding I about exploded with excitement!
Turns out that Kate, while completing her pastry school training in Paris, had met a Parisian and fallen in love. *sigh* And now was getting married in Charleston, no less!
With very few visits to Charleston we knew we had to act fast. Kate had a beautiful blue and red antique French-American dictionary which served as our source of inspiration. She desired hand-crafted and personal details to create a cozy and gracious atmosphere for their friends and family who were coming from near and far. She wanted to bring part of her fiancé’s French culture here while maintaining her southern roots.
It was a merging of the City of Lights in the Holy City. And what a special wedding it was!
