Anne and Mike

There are certain wedding venues in town that I know are going to ALWAYS be beautiful… their location and space are just perfect for parties.

The I’On Creek Club is just such a venue. Right on the water through the gorgeous I’On neighborhood, it really is a little Charleston gem!

A little drizzling rain couldn’t stop Anne and Mike’s wedding from being absolutely perfect. A ceremony on the lawn over looking the water led to a pleasant cocktail hour on the porches just as the sun was setting and a beautiful, formal seated dinner by Granville’s Catering inside the Creek Club…

and of course, DANCING rounded out the evening!

We just worked with a fantastically fun husband-wife photography duo out of Charlotte, NC- The Schultzes.

They were so laid back and fun, and I just LOVE their hip, funky style of their adorable blog.

WED wedding photo in PDN Magazine!

How fun that WED wedding photos seem to be popping up all over the blog and print world right now… we are so blessed to work with amazing clients and amazing photographers who capture their weddings!

Congrats to Dan Watson of the uber-talented photography duo at Watson Studios in Knoxville, TN for receiving a First Place prize for “Top Knots” photography in PDN Magazine!

Here’s what Natalie, Dan’s other half says about the honor on their blog:

“We recently found out that Dan won 1st place in the Details and Interiors category of the International 2010 Top Knots: New School of Wedding Photography Competition.  The Top Knots competition is one of the largest and most prestigious wedding photography competitions in the world. When we were entering a few of our photos, I remember thinking that it would be nice to get something featured sometime in the next 5 years or so! So I was really stoked to find out we got one in our first try!

Dan is the only photographer in the South, and one of only three photographers in the United States to receive a 1st place award this year. The competition was sponsored by Photo District News magazine (PDN) and TheKnot.com.

This is the photo that won – it was from Erin & Chris’s wedding in Charleston, SC in May last year. It was featured full page in PDN magazine this month.  Click here to check out all of the winners and finalists.”

A hand-written letter

There is just something about a hand-written letter. I try to make it a practice in my own life and I have to admit- I was pretty eager for the b-day cards that I knew would come my way this past weekend.

And though we used this template to make prints for the 250+ friends and family who were invited to this wedding, I think Elizabeth Porcher Jones‘ beautiful handwriting is nearly as personal as it gets…
