Ellen's wedding

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010

Do you ever wonder what a wedding planner does for her own wedding?Ellen has been planning weddings in Charleston for over 10 years and when she became engaged, she knew she’d want to escape for a more intimate celebration with her closest family and friends. Caneel Bay in St. John, U.S.V.I is her absolute favorite place in the world so it only made sense to gather there for the seaside soiree.

Here’s a little peak into the absolutely LOVELY wedding of Ellen and Dave….

Whoohoo, Ellen and Dave!!!

Wedding Day Dogs

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010

While I myself am a huge animal fan and really do always love a pet at a wedding, I also think it can be a graciously courteous thing to include beloved pets in ways that don’t require their actual presence as a “guest.”

Kirsten and Paul gave each guest a send off “from” their sweet dogs… Charleston Cheese Zinger Crackers made by the wonderful bakers at Food for the Southern Soul in the shape of doggie treats. And each package gave offered a letter to each friend that the bride and groom had made a donation to their local animal shelter in his or her honor. Adorable.

This plantation wedding was truly unique from the amazing family to the unique color palette to the custom ordered place settings.

Here’s a peak to inspire…

First, their rehearsal dinner was a modern contrast to the southern affair the next evening… I loved how they mixed things up a bit to give guests a taste of both the old and modern South…

YUMMY IDEA- Marble Slab Creamery catered dessert, marble slab and all.
