Girly Girl Details

Friday, February 26th, 2010

You know what, I’m not an inherent girly girl. I grew up between brothers, what can I say??

But there is something so fun and lovely about the feminine details in a wedding from pink roses to a blushing bride.

Jay was SUCH a fun bride and she fully embraced all that was pink. I loved it. Here are just a few of the fun girly girl details:

One word: LIGHTING!

Here are a few shots from a hunting lodge that we transformed into an uber-romantic, pink-infused evening:

(The cake was lit under the linen, casting an ambient glow that could be seen even through the outside windows)

(The bar and cigar bar were uplit in hot pinks, and the trees across the lake were hilighted in blue. We even added a “full moon” to light up the night…)

(The two main interior rooms were all about “sleek” and “pink.” Custom white carpet and pink, pink, P-I-N-K lighting!)

…All I can think about is SPRING!!

And this wedding just epitomizes all that I love about that time of year: blooming dogwoods, forsythia, daffodils, and lady’s tears… in bright shades of green and yellow!

Happy weekend!

I love this simple photo that we took at Storm and Annie’s wedding. We used this gorgeous Chinese paper on all of their printed materials and then also placed it on the bottom of trays used on their ottomans.

It just makes me happy with this hydrangea and tweedia arrangement on top…

Happy weekend!

Kate and Ben

Oh, my… this wedding. One of our FAVORITES for many reasons…

Does everyone remember “Hurricane Hanna”- the alleged hurricane that was coming through the lowcountry in September 2008 threatening to destroy all of our carefully planned events?

This bride and groom would have none of that. Kate, a boutique owner (see her adorable shop here) and her groom Ben, a Navy SEAL, were scheduled to go overseas the very next week. So the show had to go on!

Thankfully the winds gave away to an absolutely STUNNING wedding full of thoughtful details and charm. And did we mention how fun it was? From the bride and groom’s first dance to “Super Freak” (a surprise to all the guests) to the Polaroid photo set up complete with dress up props galore, we were all kept entertained.
